Malcolm CasSelle and Virtual Asset Exchange

Cryptocurrency is an important part of the virtual markets that thrive within video games with masses of players. However, there are problems with cryptocurrency like fraud and geographical fragmentation. The present mode of trade does not ensure that the virtual assets will be delivered by the seller, and it does not tackle things like differing language.

Malcolm CasSelle heads OPSkins, a world leader in sales of virtual assets has fixed those problems. CasSelle is debuting WAX (Worldwide Asset eXchange), a new blockchain platform which promises to make cryptocurrency exchanges safer and creates a market uninhibited by things like language, security concerns, or payment processing methods. It does this within the video game platform so users can complete transactions without even leaving gameplay. This work is a promising step for the future of cryptocurrency, perhaps even the type of tool needed to catapult it into mainstream use.

CasSelle is a graduate of MIT and Stanford. He is a decorated entrepreneur. Since 1995 when he started NetNoir, a media productions website focused on Afrocentric culture, he has a been a leader in virtual enterprise. He then went on to work at Pacific Century CyberWorks, a publicly traded telco service provider out of Hong Kong.

From 2006-2013, CasSelle was an investment director at Capital Union in Hong Kong where he managed funds for investments in web companies. In 2012, he was CEO of Xfire, a social network for core video gamers. He became CEO for Media Pass, a paywall for subscriptions to online content. That same year, he co-founded TimeLine Labs, a social media tracking company. During 2014, TimeLine Labs was acquired by SeaChange International where CasSelle served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital Media. In 2016, he was named CTO of tronc, previously Tribune Publishing. He founded OPSkins and WAX in 2017.

Malcolm CasSelle is a world leader in virtual asset exchange. His new platform, WAX, will enable gamers to make exchanges for virtual goods in video games much safer and reliable while opening up trade on a global level.
